Have you ever been told that you HAVE to be on ALL the social media platforms in order to be successful? Unfortunately, that’s a myth that’s been circulating all over the interwebs for a long time and it’s one that gets me fired up.

I don’t know about you, but as a small business owner, you’re probably struggling to come up with posts for one social media platform and the thought of having to do that on other platforms is super overwhelming.

Let me put you at ease with this – the only platforms you need to be on are where your customers are. That’s it.

The best way to find out what platforms you customers is simple – just ask them. Here are a couple ways you can find out:

  1. Ask them in person or via email – the next time you interact with a customer just ask them where they like to “hang out” on social media. Easy peasy.
  2. Ask on the social media platforms you do have – this can be in the form of a poll and you can post that on all your platforms (think copy/paste 😉).

Then whichever platform has the most responses is a clue to which one is the most effective.

Once you find out which platform your customers are hanging out in, let me know.
