The first section of planning your marketing strategy in my New Year Planning Workbook is: marketing and sales. Did you know there’s a difference between the two? If you didn’t, you’re not alone! I’ve worked with so many small business owners that have categorized them together.

Here’s the difference between them: Marketing is the tools and resources you use to generate interest in your products and services that leads to how you sell your product.

So as you plan your marketing and sales this year focus on the tools and resources you can use to promote your products and services. Be creative and I encourage you to even start asking your current customers and your employees for ideas.

If you’re still wondering the difference between the two, check out my Facebook video where I share an example of how marketing affected the sales for one of my clients.
