When I first started in marketing several years ago, I remember very clearly how overwhelming it was to figure out where to start in our marketing. At the time, a logo, business cards and website were top priority. After that, we tossed around ideas for mailers, threw a couple ads in a few neighborhood newsletters and waited for the crowds to bust through our doors begging to do business. Let’s just say, all we experienced was the chirping of crickets.
Let’s face it; it’s tough to market your small businesses when there are large, well-funded, national corporations within feet of your doorstep. How do you stand out amongst the crowd and reach warm bodies that want and need your products or services? While I’d love to tout a one-word simple answer, it’s really not that easy. No website, postcard mailer or social media page is the full and complete answer. Instead it’s more about the process, your audience, and your product.
We will embark on a journey these next several blog posts to share with you the pieces of a successful marketing strategy. Where do you start? What resources are out there? Does SEO work?
If you follow the process, we believe that you will see your business evolve into a marketing success. We hope you’ll join us!
