Let’s talk about newsletter email etiquette for a second.
Did you know that when you send your email newsletter to your customers, you should be using an email service provider such as Mailchimp or ConvertKit as opposed to sending them directly from your Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook accounts?
Here’s a couple reasons why it’s important to use an email service provider:
- Helps you create professionally designed emails;
- Allows you to manage your email subscribers;
- Gives your subscribers an opportunity to unsubscribe (if you’ve ever tried to unsubscribe from an email, you know this is important!);
- Let’s you see the success of your emails and which topics resonate with your customers;
- AND Keeps you in legal compliance. There’s a lot of rules for sending emails and an email service provider will keep you from getting into trouble (you can Google the CAN-SPAM Act for more info)
If you’ve never used an email service provider, I always suggest trying MailChimp. It’s, by far, the easiest one to learn. And if you need some hand-holding as you navigate growing your email list you can also sign up for my 4-week marketing course waitlist. We cover email marketing in that course and I even show you have to create those emails in Mailchimp too.
